One wallet, two different products
OTP is prepaid usage, not a subscription. Payment Solution is optional and has its own fixed-period plans. Both use the same account, wallet and API key, but their prices and usage limits are separate.
To send OTPs, create and verify an account, add credit and call the OTP API. Do not buy a payment plan unless you actually need Payment Solution. The API key is generated automatically; enabling a payment plan does not create another key.
Adding OTP credit
- Open Add credit in your account and enter the wallet-credit amount.
- Review the OTP rate list, estimated OTP capacity and the separately displayed fee or tax.
- If you have an eligible coupon, apply it and check the revised totals before paying.
- Complete the configured deposit checkout. Return to MeraOTP and allow the server to verify payment.
- Check your balance and Wallet Activity. A browser success page by itself does not credit the wallet.
The public top-up fee currently displayed is 18%. For example, ₹100 of wallet credit with this percentage gives an illustrative payable total of ₹118.00 before any eligible coupon or offer adjustment. The checkout's actual breakdown is authoritative; fees, tax treatment and offers must not be inferred from a documentation example.
Your OTP rate depends on the applicable credit tier and any custom rate assigned to your account. Check the rate displayed in your panel. A rate change affects future usage according to your account settings; a copied example response is not a price quote.
If your account has joining credit or a referral reward, the panel shows the applicable balance and rate. Do not assume a promotional amount is available to every account or indefinitely.
Payment Solution plans
Open Payment Solution → Setup to compare the available plans, price, link quota and request limit. Activate the plan using sufficient wallet credit. The Overview shows the current plan, end/renewal date and links used.
When upgrading an active plan, the panel shows the charge after the applicable unused-time credit. Review that quote before confirming; do not calculate an upgrade price from this guide. Lower plans may need to wait until the current period ends.
Auto-renewal is a separate choice. If it is enabled, keep enough wallet credit for the renewal. If it is disabled, plan access ends at the displayed time. Reminder emails, in-panel notices and permitted push notifications can warn you before expiry; they do not guarantee that a renewal charge will succeed.
Creating links consumes the plan's link quota. Repeated status checks are not new payment links, but API request limits still apply. Use sensible polling intervals and handle rate-limit responses.
Where to find each transaction
- Wallet Activity: wallet credits and debits, including top-ups, accepted OTP usage, payment-plan purchases and upgrades. Use its search, date, category and status filters.
- OTP activity: a masked recipient, request reference, provider outcome and verification status for each OTP attempt.
- Payment Solution Activity: customer payment links and verification records. These customer payments go to your business VPA, not to your MeraOTP wallet.
A pending deposit is not spendable credit. If money was deducted but the wallet is unchanged, keep the original deposit reference and check its status before creating another payment. Share the non-secret reference, amount and payment time with support; never share your UPI PIN or bank credentials.
Refund eligibility and cancellation rules are described in the Refund & Cancellation Policy. For API errors such as insufficient balance or an expired plan, use the troubleshooting guide.
Need a hand?
Send support the endpoint, request time, error code and a non-secret reference. Never send your API key, password, webhook secret or an OTP.
